Neither of Us Felt Ready

Updated: Jan 4

We accidentally got pregnant right after getting engaged. Neither of us felt mentally, emotionally or financially ready to have a baby. We weighed all of our options and abortion was the only one that made sense. If we had kept that child we wouldn’t be able to provide the live we’re providing for our toddler now. It was a gut wrenching choice to make but it was the only choice to make.

I can’t imagine being in that situation and having no other option but to bring another life into the world. I loathe that my daughter will grow up with fewer rights and freedoms than I have experienced and benefited from. I’ll also add that we got pregnant while I was on birth control. Lucky .1% in that one circumstance I suppose.
